The Lions Clubs Singapore and Lions Clubs International District D308A1 2022-2023 District Governor and Club President Cabinet Inauguration Ceremony was held on July 30, 2022 at the Orchard Hotel in Singapore.
Lionel LI, Past District Governor of the 2008-2009 Beijing Lions Club, was cordially invited to attend the event.
Lions Clubs International, is an international non-political service organization established originally in 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, by Melvin Jones. It is now headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois. As of January 2020, it had over 46,000 local clubs and more than 1.4 million members (including the youth wing Leo) in more than 200 countries and geographic areas around the world.
Lions serve. It’s that simple, and it has been since they first began in 1917. Their clubs are places where individuals join together to give their valuable time and effort to improving their communities, and the world.
On behalf of 2,000 Lions in Beijing, Lionel presented an autographed painting of this year’s Lions Clubs International Peace Poster Contest World Champion as a gift to the newly appointed District Governor, Mr. SK HO.
Including former International Directors and Global Action Team, Regional Area Leaders, nearly 700 Lions attended the event and dinner.
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
The book tells the stories behind the event which saw the largest number of people in history running 1045km round Taiwan in 19 days.
