The inaugural SportCares Duathlon kicked off on 23rd December 2020 at the Singapore Sports Hub. Around 100 participants from Darul Ihsan Orphanage for Girls and Muhammadiyah Welfare Home participated in a one hour training workshop before taking part in a mini duathlon held at the 100PLUS Promenade. The duathlon comprises of a 1,600-metre cycle sandwiched between two 800-metre runs.
Blessed with good weather conditions, the participants gave their best and were presented with a certificate of participation at the end of the event. Though exhausted, many participants left feeling accomplished and are looking forward to the next event in 2021.
This event was supported by volunteers from Nanyang Polytechnic and Li Foundation.
The book showcases how the participants challenged their limits and conquered the World Marathon Challenge and North Pole Marathon to inspire people to challenge their own limits and pursue their dreams boldly.
The book tells the stories behind the event which saw the largest number of people in history running 1045km round Taiwan in 19 days.
